09.08.11 Blackpool Automart 29 - 39 BNC3

This week's match was against BNC3 who are a very young but up and coming side, probably better than BNC2.

This was the last game of the summer season. Automart this week had a somewhat depleted side with 5 players unavailable due to summer holidays. We had to get 2 players to help us out at short notice but these players hadn't played for several years. Due to the lack of numbers it meant that we had to play people out of position and the game was far from comfortable from the outset.

Both teams in the first quarter started pretty evenly but BNC3 took advantage of our somewhat weaker side. By quarter time the score was 10-8 to BNC3.

Automart made a couple of positional changes at quarter time and this seemed to make a difference to the game and Automart fought back hard. BNC3 maintained their momentum and by half time the score was 23-19 to BNC3. The third quarter was not a good quarter for Automart and we seemed to struggle with our muddled team, the score by three quarter time was 31-23 to BNC3.

In the final quarter Automart fought hard but unfortunately it was not enough and BNC 3 won the game 39-29. This was not a bad score considering our team issues this week and we do get points for achieving over half of BNC3's score. This loss does not affect the table in anyway and Automart have finished second in the division in this summer league, this means that they are the second strongest team in the entire league as we are in the top division. This is a great achievement and we are really pleased with the result. There will now be a break for the summer and games start again on the 6th September.
